It is one shared 10,000 × 10,000-pixel canvas divided into exactly 1,000,000 ownable spaces. People, artists and businesses can claim a rectangle, publish an exact-size creative and become part of one public mosaic.

Most online publishing disappears into endless feeds. This project explores the opposite idea: a finite, human-made public place where every contribution has fixed coordinates, a visible owner number and a clear relationship to everything around it.

There are one million spaces and the default primary price is one US dollar per space, making the complete initial inventory worth one million dollars. The name describes the structure and ambition of the experiment; it is not a promise that an owner will earn money or that a space is an investment.

The finish line is to fill all 1,000,000 spaces and complete a collective picture of the people, art, ideas and businesses that chose to show up. Claimed and available totals are shown publicly as progress toward that goal.

New purchases close and the completed canvas remains publicly explorable as an internet artifact. Owner pages and any optional owner links continue to work, and retrospective moderation continues. If a purchase is later cancelled and its refund is confirmed, that exact rectangle may become available again.

One space is an indivisible 10 × 10-pixel unit. A purchase is always a rectangular group of whole spaces, while the uploaded or manually drawn creative is rendered at the rectangle’s exact raster-pixel dimensions.

A new purchase must contain at least 10 spaces in total. It can be any available rectangular shape that contains 10 or more spaces, such as 5 × 2 spaces. At the default one-dollar price, the minimum checkout is $10.

The server multiplies the exact number of selected spaces by the configured price per space. The total is shown before checkout and is verified again on the server, so changing browser values cannot change the amount owed.

Use a preset, enter custom dimensions or draw a rectangle directly on the map. Click an empty location to place it, drag the map to move around and use the mouse wheel over the canvas to zoom. Claimed and temporarily reserved areas cannot be selected.

Yes. After uploading an image, you can apply its proportions to the selected rectangle and then make the rectangle smaller or larger while keeping that ratio. Dimensions are rounded to whole spaces and the updated space count and price are shown before you continue.

Yes. The exact-pixel editor includes pencil, line, rectangle, fill, eyedropper, eraser, multiple brush sizes, undo and redo. Drawing changes real output pixels; the editing grid itself is never included in the published image.

A reservation normally lasts 10 minutes and appears anonymously to others as temporarily unavailable. Manual drawing can be extended once during the final two minutes, up to a strict maximum of 20 minutes from the original reservation start. An expired area can immediately be claimed by somebody else.

A late payment never displaces another reservation or owner. It is placed into payment-conflict review so support can resolve it and arrange a refund where appropriate.

Register with your name, email and a password of at least 10 characters, accept the current rules and confirm your email when requested. After that you can sign in with the password whenever you return. A secure single-use email link remains available as a passwordless alternative and recovery path.

You receive a contractual right to display one policy-compliant creative in the purchased rectangle while the service operates. A website is optional: every block has its own information page here, and owners who provide a safe external address can offer a separate website button there. You do not own the domain, website code, physical land or platform intellectual property, and the space is not a security or investment product.

No. A title and creative are enough. Clicking or hovering a live block leads to its information page on the Million Dollar Website first. If the owner later adds a valid HTTP or HTTPS address, that page shows a separate tracked link to it.

After verified payment and successful image processing, the exact creative publishes immediately and appears on the public map.

No routine approval is required first. New and reported content is reviewed retrospectively. An administrator can hide unsafe or non-compliant work, disable its destination, request a correction or begin cancellation under the Content Policy.

Yes. After publication, you can use one owner-initiated image change every 30 days. Your first voluntary change is available immediately; the next opens 30 days after you use it. If an administrator requests a correction, you can replace the image immediately without using or resetting that monthly allowance. Every replacement keeps the exact purchased dimensions, coordinates, space count and original price.

No. There is no resale marketplace, auction, transfer system, NFT or promise of future resale value. Any later ownership-transfer feature would require separate rules, security work and an explicit product decision.

A cancellation first moves to refund review and keeps its rectangle occupied. Inventory and its Owner Number are released only after any required real-money refund is confirmed. The refunded order remains in private audit records, while the released number may be assigned to a future owner. Eligibility depends on the reason, purchase state and applicable law.

Permanent describes the intended fixed-map concept while an acquisition remains active and compliant. A completed full refund or a serious policy, safety, fraud or legal violation can release the exact rectangle and its numeric Owner Number for future use. A removal from this website does not itself erase or refund a Stripe transaction. Permanent also cannot guarantee that hosting, networks or the service will operate forever.

Create or sign in to your normal account, open the Creator page and submit a short application. Social profiles are optional. Referral tools activate only after manual approval, and the same account still works normally everywhere else on the site.

A valid creator link stores referral attribution for 30 days. If the visitor later follows another approved creator’s valid link, the newest valid creator receives credit. The attribution can survive registration, sign-in, browsing and repeat eligible purchases during that window.

The verified purchase subtotal after discounts and before tax is multiplied by the creator’s commission rate captured at checkout. The server calculates the value, preserves the historical rate and keeps the commission pending for 14 days. Free grants, test orders, self-referrals, refunds and invalid purchases do not create commission.

A creator becomes payout-eligible after at least $50 of available commission and adjustments. Pending and previously paid amounts do not count. Payouts are prepared and completed manually, and every included commission or adjustment remains auditable.

No. An administrator may optionally assign one free creator area. It occupies real canvas inventory but records zero sales revenue. The creator may replace only the artwork inside that fixed area; only an administrator can move, resize or revoke it. Creator grants display a named Owner #Name identity and do not consume the numbered Owner sequence used by paying owners.

New visits through that creator’s referral link stop being accepted. Their normal account and historical analytics, commissions and payout records remain intact. Any financial correction is recorded explicitly rather than silently deleting history.
